How is this medication used?

Take pilocarpine by mouth, usually 4 times daily, or as directed by your healthcare provider. For eye drops, usually instill 1-2 drops into the affected eye(s) 3 to 4 times daily. Follow your doctor's instructions carefully and do not exceed the recommended dose.

What are the possible side effects?

Common side effects of pilocarpine may include increased sweating, nausea, runny nose, diarrhea, chills, flushing, frequent urination, dizziness, and blurred vision. In case of severe side effects like severe vision changes, fast or irregular heartbeat, or severe abdominal cramping, seek medical attention immediately.

Pilocarpine may interact with other medications such as beta-blockers, anticholinergic drugs, and other medications affecting heart rate or blood pressure. Inform your doctor about all the medications you are taking to avoid potential interactions.
